This week was an interesting week. We carried out a CCTV installation at Brockhill Park Performing Arts College for Classwatch (http://www.classwatch.co.uk) which involved replacement of two old analogue cameras with some Samsung SNO-6084R IP housed cameras, two new SNV-6084R dome cameras, and five new internal Axis mini dome cameras. The specs on the Samsung cameras are probably the highest you will find on the market today and the pictures are phenomenal! They give sharp, crisp, and very detailed pictures whose colours are really vibrant; I defy anyone not to be impressed. The Axis cameras were tiny and very lightweight, really easy to install (although I think Axis need to think a bit more about their connectors, a short lead with a RJ45 plug is rubbish, it needs a female socket in my opinion) and their pictures were impressive at 1080p. These were connected through the existing network infrastructure to a Mirasys server and worked extremely well. All in all, a nice job.
